Hiring Process:

Before appointment to any position with the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, applicants must successfully complete multiple steps in the hiring process including: interview, background investigation, polygraph examination, drug screen, physical examination, etc. The hiring process can take between 4 - 8 weeks depending upon the position and the applicant. Civilian Support Opportunities:

While the primary function of the Sheriff’s Office is corrections and law enforcement services, our agency staffs civilian support personnel. Positions such as Receptionist and Communications Officer are just a couple of the civilian support positions.

Starting Salary for Receptionist:	$20,000/year
Starting Salary for Communications Officer:	$23,000/year
